Not only is the Zanesville Arsenal Girls U-11 team the Regular Season MOSSL Champions, now they are the MOSSL Tournament Silver Division Champions as well.  The team only had 2 goals scored against them the entire weekend (October 24-25, 2009) and 3 of the games were shutouts!  Arsenal started the weekend strong with a 5-0 victory over OYAA Saturday morning and finished the afternoon off with a 3-0 win over Eagles OP Black.  Sunday morning’s game against WASA Eagles started off tuff with a score of 1-1 at the half, but the team rallied back in the second half for a final score of 6-2!  The team met Chillicothe, their season long rivals and 2nd place finishers in the MOSSL regular season, in the Championship Game.  With a score of 0-0 at the half the team appeared to be feeling the fatigue of the weekend and recent illnesses from several team members, but Kylee Ritchie gave the team a quick motivational boost by scoring the team’s first goal 30 seconds into the second half.  Chloe Amich scored the team’s second goal off of Destiny Johnson’s assist.  The entire team pulled together to win the MOSSL tournament including:  Lily Lewis, Allie Murphy, Ashton Kemble, Kara Glaze and Chloe Williams.  Over the course of the weekend goals were scored by:  Johnson (7- six of which were in one game!), Ritchie (5, one of which was a header-a first for her and the team!), Karissa Weekley (3), and Chloe Amich (1).  Assists were made by: Amich (2) and Johnson (3).  The goalie position was played by:  Karsyn Shatto (36 saves), Weekley (4 saves), Johnson (4 saves), Landyn Dolen (0 saves, but she only got the goalie gloves for the last 60 seconds of game #1), and Abby Hutcheson (9 saves).  Congratulations ladies & coaches for an amazing season!!!
